SEQENS’ strategy for developing sustainable lubricant additives is based on three priority areas: product safety and the use of biosourced and/or biodegradable raw materials. We manufacture sustainable lubricant additives that perform similarly to, or even better than, traditional products, without compromising the quality or efficiency of operations.

Discover our products
Sustainable extreme presure additives
Discover our range of extreme pressure additives from our sustainable offering, designed to combine high technical performance with environmental responsibility. Formulated with more than 50% raw materials of vegetable origin and over 50% biodegradable content (according to the OECD 301B aerobic biodegradation test), these additives meet the demands of modern lubricant formulations.
Our sustainable range is divided into two complementary product lines:
SULFAD®, including SULFAD® 1710E, SULFAD® 1711E, and SULFAD® 1529E :
- SULFAD® 1710 E : An extreme pressure additive non compatible with yellow metals recommended for formulating metalworking fluids such as deep hole drilling, grinding and honing oils from which good cooling effect is required. SULFAD® 1710E is on the Lubricant Substance Classification list (short: LuSC list) and is approved for use in lubricating formulations eligible for the European Ecolabel certification.
- SULFAD® 1711 E : An extreme pressure additive compatible with all metals recommended for formulating metalworking fluids such as deep hole drilling, grinding and honing oils from which good cooling effect is required. SULFAD® 1711E is on the Lubricant Substance Classification list (short: LuSC list) and is approved for use in lubricating formulations eligible for the European Ecolabel certification.
- SULFAD® 1529 E : An extreme pressure additive from biosourced and biodegradable origin. This new range of SULFAD® has been specifically developed to have more chemical compatibility with group I, II, III, IV and V base stocks, by a tight selection of raw materials to be sulfurized and an optimized manufacturing process. They can ideally be used for formulating metalworking fluids dedicated to medium to heavy duty metalworking applications and for greases additivation.
In addition to the SULFAD range, we also offer a range of durable extreme pressure additives called ROSCAN®, which is available in two types: ROSCAN Light and ROSCAN Dark. The two types of ROSCAN differ in color and are available with various sulphur content, viscosity and copper corrosion characteristics, combining technical performance with bio-based and biodegradable raw materials.
Sustainable metal protection additives
Driven by evolving health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as the need for supply chain reliability, we develop durable solutions while maintaining high anti-corrosion performance. Our ongoing research has enabled the creation of non-labeled ARCOT additives that meet strict regulatory requirements while preserving their rust preventive effectiveness. The sustainable ARCOT range also includes advanced rust preventive packages, expanding our portfolio to support long-term metal protection with a responsible approach tailored to today’s industrial challenges.
- ARCOT CS 203: a solvent based polar over based calcium sulfonate additive for the formulation of a wide range of film forming anticorrosion protection, for rust preventive applications such as protection products for ballast tank, industrial gears and other devices as well as automotive undercoating and cavity protection. It is compatible with most hydrocarbon solvents, mineral oils, waxes, petrolatums and resins.
- ARCOT CS 401: a non-labeled solvent based polar over-based calcium sulfonate used as an anti-corrosion additive. It can be used for formulation of a wide range of film forming anti-corrosion compounds: cavity protection, car undercoating protection and wax formulations. It is compatible with most hydrocarbon solvents, mineral oils, waxes, petrolatums and resins.
- ARCOT 4004 R: a calcium-based rust preventative package designed for solvent and oil-based formulations, for interoperation, storage and transportation of metal protection. It is compatible with most hydrocarbon solvents and mineral oils. ARCOT® 4004R has been specially developed as a safer substitute for barium sulfonates in protection applications.
Sustainable grease additives
Our latest development KELICO® V range opens the door to biodegradable calcium sulfonate greases.
KELICO® V products enable the lubricants’ manufacturers to formulate environmentally acceptable lubricants with exceptional performances.
- KELICO V 2046: An overbased complex calcium sulfonate biodegradable base, specifically recommended for NLGI 2 biodegradable greases used for open gears lubrication in case of water contamination. It is especially adapted for applications in the agricultural sector and marine equipment due to its environmentally friendly formulation. KELICO V 2046 can be improved with additional additives for very specific applications.
- KELICO V 2150: An overbased complex calcium sulfonate biodegradable base, specifically recommended for multipurpose biodegradable greases used in the lubrification of bearings with medium speed and loads. It is especially adapted for applications in the agricultural sector, forestry and marine equipment due to its environmentally friendly formulation. KELICO V 2150 can be improved with additional additives for very specific applications.
- KELICO V 0046: An overbased complex calcium sulfonate biodegradable base, specifically recommended to formulate good pumpability biodegradable greases used to lubricate bearings with centralized lubrication systems. It is especially adapted for applications in the agricultural sector, forestry and marine equipment due to its environmentally friendly formulation. KELICO V 0046 can be improved with additional additives for very specific applications.
