Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is a non-glycosylated protein of 66 kDa. Produced by the liver, BSA is the most abundant protein in plasma. Albumin has a key role for maintaining oncotic pressure and is the main carrier for low molecular weight compounds such as fatty acids and hormones.

Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is used as a protein standard, stabilizer and blocking or buffering agent and plays a major role in numerous biological applications such as blood grouping, cell culture or immunoassays (ELISA, RIA…).

Thanks to over 30 years of manufacturing this product, SEQENS IVD guarantees a great expertise and high batch-to-batch repeatability.

SEQENS IVD BSA is obtained by Heat Shock Method, the least denaturing method on the market, designed to prevent the excessive use of organic solvents. It undergoes a thermal inactivation during 3 hours at 65°C.

Bovine plasma used for the manufacture of SEQENS IVD Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is collected from French healthy cattle declared free from BSE disease in its clinical forms. It is sourced in EU-approved French slaughterhouses.

SEQENS IVD Bovine Fibrinogen is purified using Cohn fractionation and especially developed for producing RPF supplement. Bovine plasma used for the manufacture of SEQENS IVD Bovine Fibrinogen is collected from French healthy cattle declared free from BSE disease in its clinical forms. It is sourced in EU-approved French slaughterhouses.

RPF supplement (Rabbit Plasma Fibrinogen), in addition to Baird Parker agar, is used for the detection and enumeration of coagulase-positive staphylococci in the food industry (ISO 6888-2) and in water testing controls (NF T90-412). SEQENS IVD also offers other RPF components separately such as Rabbit Plasma and Soybean Trypsin Inhibitor.

SEQENS IVD Bovine Fibrinogen is available in ready-to-use solution and in a lyophilized powder. The 5% frozen sterile solution enables to save time and cost of solubilization and filtration. It is 0.2 µm filtered. Bovine Fibrinogen solution can also be supplied with the addition of Soybean Trypsin Inhibitor.

Human plasma and off-the-clot serum are used as a base matrix for calibrators, controls and standards in IVD applications.

SEQENS IVD Human Plasma and Serum are collected in EU licensed donation facilities, in accordance with ethical requirement of French Public Health.

This line is supplied either in units or pooled. For serum, donors can be selected on gender or blood group (AB male available).

VIRAL TESTING

SEQENS IVD Human Plasma and Serum have all been tested and found negative for:

•       Anti-HIV 1+2 & anti-HCV antibodies
•       HBs antigen
•       HIV 1 & HCV RNA
•       Syphilitic serology

This product line is obtained from human plasma, successively defibrinated, dialysed, delipidated and then charcoal stripped to remove specific elements (vitamin D, steroids, hormones, T3/T4, TSH). All products are 0.1 µm filtered and have a shelf life of 2 years.

Our processed sera are used in immunoassays as calibrators in endocrinology and fertility testing for example.

VIRAL TESTING

Each raw material batch has been tested and found negative for:

•       Anti-HIV 1+2 & anti-HCV antibodies
•       HBs antigen
•       HIV 1 & HCV RNA
•       Syphilitic serology

This product is obtained by the natural coagulation process of human blood, without anticoagulants only from male donors of blood group AB.

SEQENS IVD Human AB male Serum is used in mammalian cell culture as a growth supplement and in immunoassay.
